Hi,

Im needing replacement tyres for the first time since I got my Gen7.

Has anybody driven on Silverstones FTZ Sport 205/50R16 ?(they came with the car) .. got them priced for £75.

I could go for the same again but would like to see how it compares with Yokohama and Good Years mentioned in past discussions if anybody knows.

Open to your opinions :meet:

Cheers

I have absolutely no experience of the Silverstone's you've mentioned I'm afraid, but as a good pointer, I'd say the vast majority on here are either on Goodyear Eagle F1's, or Toyo Proxies.

Both are damn good tyres - The Toyo's are about as soft a compound as you can get on a road tyre so grip is phenominal, but wear isn't so good (I've taken it pretty easy on mine most of the time, and the fronts have only lasted about 10,000 miles). The Goodyears are slightly harder, so better wearing, but probably not quite so good grip.

You'll pay a similar amount quoted for the Silverstone's for either tyre mentioned above.

Possibly of little use, as I guess you've read all this stuff already, but Proxies and F1s are popular for a reason!

Thanks,

On that advice, I may give F1's a try since they cost similar.

I think the wear on the Silverstone FTZ's seem to be on the quick side for just having the car for 3mnths.

Cheers
