Slight Oil Leak

Hey All,

When the Yaris Blue was serviced in December for the 20k the garage I went too (not a Toyota, but a specialist) said that there appeared to be a slight oil leak from the sump or main bearing. I'd not noticed this as I do check the oil but the drop wasn't major so I just presumed that it was a natural thing (this was before the service).

After forgetting about what they'd said & being reminded by Yves about it, it was booked into the Toyota Dealer to be looked at today, took it down for just gone 8am - really thrilled my Dad as he had to follow me and bring me back on his day off , got a call at 2pm to say it would be ready by 3pm - couldn't fault the dealer this time, despite their awful customer service back in March of last year which was in the front of my mind.

On the report it states "oil leak from engine suspect that the oil is leaking from the side cover and noticed that there appears to be a slight leak from the sump. Removed resealed & refitted the side cover & sump". They also checked the brakes regarding the squeaking sound that I can hear & put some info about that. So, pleased to say that this was all done under warranty with no problems - plus the car is only on 21,200 miles.

Just wanted to let everyone know as it wasn't something I had heard of happening on petrol Yarii so just passing on what happened.

a woman I know had her car in and out of the dealers about 4-5 times and she had the same yaris blue as you, with problems with an oil leak and they didn't know where it was coming from, and that was a brand new car.

Don't know if it's a common problem on the yaris blue, but i'm glad I got rid of mine just incase, although I never had any problems in the 18 months I had the car for, and it had only done under 6k.

That's a lot of visits, but then again the engine in the Blue is the same as the 1.3 in the other P2's so could be a problem for those too..
