Radio Security Code

Hi all,

I've just discovered this forum, and apologise if I'm going over old ground - but I need help.

I a '93 Toyota Camry 3.0 on which the radio/cassette requires a "security code" (the dealer disconnected the battery). The dealers themselves cannot help me with the code because it was set by the original owner. He cannot remember which three digit combination he used.

The owner's handbook suggests that you can "reset" the radio, but this doesn't work. I still have "security" on the screen. I don't particularly want to pay an exhorbitant fee to have the radio replaced (involving complete removal of the facia and panels) and would appreciate the advice of anyone who has enountered this problem before.

Thanks for the offer. My radio isn't among the list you have (mine is a Fujitsu) but I've had a stroke of luck! I work for a national newspaper and asked the Motoring Correspondent to speak to Toyota on my behalf. They have now arranged for my radio to be re-coded by one of their engineers, so I'll be up and running again. Power of the press, eh?
