Are Battery Guarantees Honoured?

The genuine Toyota Battery on my '99 is faulty (showing "clear eye") and is within the 3 year guarantee period. Is it worth asking my local Toyota dealer for a replacement?

I have all the documentation although this Battery was purchased on 22/04/04 by the car's previous owner at a London dealership.

Thanks in anticipation.

Ring them up and tell the situation. Advise them you have all the relevant paperwork etc and what the issue is.

I can see there being a problem unless there is a clause stating that the garuntee is only valid for the person who purchased it.

You nothing to loose in a phone call. Saves you having to go over to find out they wont replace it.

I would say it works on a percentage rate as each year passes, 2nd year they may pay 50% towards the cost, last year it is seen as wear and tear...but like you say "if you don't ask ,you don't get "...good luck :) .

It is 1 year warranty as much as I remember.. You only get 3 years on brand new car... But complain and you might get something :-)

I've checked and it is a 3 year warranty on this Optifit Toyota Battery and small print states that it will be replaced free of charge during the guarantee period but the replacement only carries a warranty as for the replaced Battery. I'll give it a go later on today if I can get someone to jump-start me!

Thanks for the replies.
