It's 16 valve, double overhead camshafts (though driven from one cam gear). The 4A-FE is Toyota's "economy" engine producing 110bhp at the flywheel (according to Toyota) and as such is not going to respond much to anything you try. A free flowing air filter will help (be careful you don't draw in hot air from the engine bay) a better flowing exhaust may help but be careful you don't go too big as you will end up slowing down the gas flow and get the opposite effect to what you want. Forget the Power Boost valve (this is an adjustable fuel pressure regulator). Increase the fuel pressure without the correct increase in air flow and all you will be doing is wasting fuel (and money) with a rich mix. Don't forget that too rich a mix could cause "bore wash" and wash all the lubrication from the bore walls and end up having to replace worn piston rings and maybe needing a rebore.

The Superchip will give a slight power increase (maybe 5 bhp) but it can only control the ignition timing on this engine. A Unichip should be able to give a bit more power but I don't have experience of one on this engine. On my 4A-GZE it gave me an extra 18 BHP but this engine is supercharged. The increase on a naturally aspirated engine will not be anything like this.

That's pretty much what I've done with mine. Custom stainless steel exhaust and a K&N panel filter. I've noticed an increase in performance but not much. Was thinking of a Dastek Unichip but then my gf stole my car for work!
