has anyone else had problems with the aygo when starting it up? i start my mums Yaris an tht starts straight away. last night mine took about 2 seconds before it started up :S is this a general problem or should i get it booked in at the garage?

I have actually noticed the starting delay in the aygo courtesy car i've got. its 55 reg and done 6000 miles but regardless off the weather conditions it sure is taking its time!

Please don't waste their (and your) time.

Most cars take slightly longer to fire up in cold weather.

I would understand your concern if the engine was turning over for 30 seconds before it fired up but about 2 seconds on a cold morning is not really bad ......................some other makes will not start at all on a cold morning

its not just cold mornings. i had the car in the summer and had the same problem and its just getting worse.

Is this on first start up or every startup?

Regarding your mums yaris starting up straight away - its a different car and things will be thicker or thinnner plus the yaris might have been parked in a more sheltered spot.

If it's first startup - currently it's nothing to worry about due to the cold weather and the delay due to the electrics heating things up.

Not sure when you got your car but you said that it happend in the summer was this a one off or was it when you brought you car as it could have been sitting somewhere for a bit which wouldn't have helped?

Personally I agree with Red Yaris and see how things go for a bit - plus 10 seconds is more realistic ;)

Also to put your mind at rest if there is a problem with it starting up an error message will be logged/shown

thanks. just to note my car is parked in a garage ans the yaris is outside. i got the aygo on the 1st september for new reg.

ill leave it for a bit see how it go's.
