Hi

Just got a new (to me) Rav 4 XT5 2006 - ex demo. Love it already but need some advice.

I have a Road Pilot Micro Go as the 9 points on my licence are very scary. It has a bulit in GPS aerial and needs to have a clear view of the sky through the windscreen. Id like to mount it on the bottom right hand side of the windscreen and then hard wire it into the Ravs electrics.

Wheres the best place to hard wire causing the least amount of work?? Im slightly nervous about removing trim etc and have adapted the cigarette lighter plug of the Road Pilot so there is a live wire and a ground wire. The plug is quite big so I;'ll need a nit of room wherever it gets plugged in - I was hoping behind the dash or underneath it.

Grateful for any advice......

thanks

Alex

I have a Talex GPS detector although its not hard wired, i can confirm that i get good reception from the unit mounted on the dash by the drivers side A pillar :) .

I have a snooper S3 mounted centrally in front window...get good reception...

Unless you have the Heat Reflective screens like in most French cars (wife's 206cc has one) don't need an external ariel...

I think Pips is your guy for this...I believe he has done some work on hard wiring items....http://www.unclepips.co.uk

:thumbsup::thumbsup:
