Many thanks in advance for your time.

Potenza RE 040 185/55 R15 82V (On a phase 2) Not 100% sure what was used on the phase 1 T Sport  I have these on mine (as standard) and have no complaints.

When the time comes I will be using these...

PROXES T1-R 185/55 R15 82V Rim-protection

PROXEST1-R.jpg

Mainly due to the reviews from people on here raving about them and they are cheaper than the Bridgestone’s.

I have also decided to keep to Toyota’s size of 185/55/15

Many thanks for the quick reply.

The time has come to replace my tyres and there are just to many to choose from, so was thinking about just sticking the standard ones back on, but the person who had the car before me has put 4 different makes of tyre on. (looks like they couldnt decide either and had one of each).

Will look up thoses 2 makes.

Thanks again, Claire.

Mine is still wearing the original bridgestones all round. I've had these before on a car I used to own and they're good in the dry and ok in the wet but absolutely hopeless in snow as I discovered again last week. Now I know most tyres aren't supposed to be good in snow but these are shocking. I could barely get up the slightest incline whilst other cars were having little trouble. And before you ask I was being very gentle on the revs! Ended up putting it in 3rd gear and wheelspinning all the way.

I had Kumho Ecstas on an old car I used to own and they were much better.

I'd go for the Toyo Proxes too. Cheaper than the original Bridgestones, last the same amount of time and grip much better in all weather conditions (apart from snow)!

very bad in the snow, had to drive 20foot through 3" of snow where I park outside work yesterday and I only just about made it. The yokohama a539's on my last wheels were much better in the snow.

Need a new set of wheels now so I can get some snow tyres, but there again it doesn't snow very badly very often, so i'd probably be wasting my money.

Many thanks for all your replies, it's appreciated.

Looks like the Toyo Proxes are a winner, unless anyone advices otherwise. I won’t drive in the snow anyway, attempted it once and it all ended in tears (and losing my no claims bonus).

Thanks again.

Claire.

Seeing as we only get snow for 2 days in the year I’d still go for the Toyo’s

When it snowed last week I stayed in, I think most low profile performance tyres are pretty bad in snow

Auroras were fitted by Mr T when I bought it but they are useless in the wet. Am hoping Proxes R will be grippier when I have worn these down :(

Would just like to say thanks for all the replys. Had the Toyo Proxes fitted 2 weeks ago and they are brilliant.

Would recommend them to anyone who is thinking of changing there tyres soon.

Claire.
