Sat Nav In E11 Answers + A Question...

Hi Chaps

I've just put a turn-by-turn DIN sized CD/Radio/Nav unit in my 1.3GS (1998), and thought this may be usefull to others.

Remove the center dash surround + cubby-box/radio (the part that has the heater controls and ciggy lighter in it) do a search for this info.

Looking into the space, you will see 3 multi connectors on the Right Hand side - top is Black, middle is Blue, bottom is White.

Blue connector - Violet/White wire (with Silver spots), this is the Speed pulse wire

White connector - Red/Black wire, this is the reverse(ing) wire

Works a treat!

Don't forget to remove the Battery earth before you go unplugging connectors!

Now the question... Does anyone know how many pulses are produced per wheel turn?

I need this info so as the Nav unit can go to 'stage 3' (or best) accuracy.

BTW is case anyone's interested, I went for a 'wired-in' Nav unit because they are more accurate (because they use the speed pulses), and has TMC built in (dynamic re-routing via traffic messageing).

Cheers
