if it was any other car than a fait and it actually looked good i might THEN consider it

hmm, whilst i like the look of the aygo ie i think its quite funky looking its a pity the 'sport' model doesn't back up the looks with any substance.

Whilst the panda is a bit anodyne in the looks department i think fiat have done a fair job with funking up the looks a bit. Whilst its no stunner its aesthetically pleasing enough i think. Thing is, it does have a bit of substance and i guess i'm the type who is more swayed by function than form IYSWIM.

If thats what your going for then go for it. But then still remember the reliability. My mates Stilo Abarth is always going wrong (I know its only one of many) but this would still put me off.

At the end of the day you know what you want in your mind and your here to hear our opinions but in the back of your mind I think you know what you want (as a girl racer an all).

Fair comment.

I think i'm really leaning toward the panda. Tbh if anything i've been put off the aygo by reading the problems people seem to be having with their aygos. Conversely the panda forum has been pretty much without any reporting of issues with the car apart from the odd radio problem. So i'm not convinced that toyota reliability has transferred that well to a joint chech republic built car.

LOL @'girl racer'. ;)

Lol you literally are aren't you? I know many of us THINK we are above average drivers but you probably know more about driving than the majority here.

Well yes i guess so, i've raced semi-professionally and done trackdays pretty much everywhere in the UK and Europe over the last seven years. I've also done some instruction too.

i've also got the points to prove it. :(

I'm thinking of changing my Smart later this year and in addition to a TTE kitted up Aygo + in chilli red I am also considering . . .

Fiat 500 with 100bhp or, if you can wait, a rumoured 150bhp Abarth version

Renault Twingo with 100bhp or, again if you can wait, a rumoured 150bhp Renaultsport version

Ford Ka - if the new model is out in time

The Fiat 500 is rumoured to be out around July time I think, the Ka not until 2008 and the Twingo September 2007.

The Fiat Panda 100hp is a nice looking car, my problem with them is that they are tiny inside. I couldn't comfortably fit in it because of the centre console being too wide. However there was no such problem in the Aygo.

Well I guess nice is a relative term . . . . . :D
