can any body help!!!

i have a 96 lucida 2.2td automatic

just over the past couple of days the car has started to vibrate quite fast whilst accelerating,

it started to happen at about 20mph and then stop after it went through,

now it is continueing to happen all through the accelertion, it is worse at around 20-30mph though.

i have checked the wheels and have recently had two new tyres put on it which were balanced.

this is like a really fast juddering as apposed to the standard wheel wobble you get from improper balaning or wheel defect.

i would like to try and sort this mnyself as my budget is extremely low.

many thanks.

My 94 Lucida has suffered similar symptoms. I had to replace the universal joints (u-j's) on both ends of the auxilary drive shaft. That is the drive shaft which goes forward to the a/c, generator, etc. The u-j's cost around 70 and getting a competent mechanic around 100. I recommend not cutting corners here as the problem will come back to bit you. Good Luck!
