Gutted. Just Spotted Car For Sale

After being very happy with my new car, SR D4D

This weekend I spotted at a local dealer

Grey/Granite 06 plate

corolla compressor, 100miles on clock, £13850.

a few hundred more than my 56 plate.

I know the new Auris has driven prices down but I'm still gutted.

Just felt like sharing my misery.

Dont worry about it mate. You have got a lovely car mate. Think of all the money you are saving with the D4D.

And then think of all the money which would be slipping through your fingers if you had the compressor ;)

Take care buddy

Oh i remember that feeling as well, just missing out on the better car.

I remember ordering my T-Spirit, but wishing i could of got the T-Sport in a five door model, but Toyota made no plans in releasing a such model.

So with only months before my new "52" plate car, i ordered my T-Spirit

But no sooner i got my car in September, Toyota announced that they were going to bring out the T-Sport in a five door model in OCTOBER!! :jawdrop:

The spec at the time sold me the T-Sport, nearly double bhp (T-Spirit = 109bhp / T-Sport = 189bhp), was the clincher, and the rest of the gadgets and gismos as well  , but only came in three door model :crybaby:

So if i only waited another six or so weeks i could of get the better car

I'm gonna go cheer myself up.

I need two things:-

-Crashed/Front cut from glanza V (1.3 turbo) - for G6

-Crashed/Front cut from Corolla Verso T180 2.2 - for SR (have to be Fitted after 3yrs or 60K miles obviously)

Actually I need a few more things:-

Dawesy's knowledge and the haynes manual for AE111

JOHN-

Cheers John for your message Mr "owner of supercharger" Already  :P

Question to John, but if anyone else can answer fine.

How many people would need to show interested in an upgrade chip for the facelift corolla,

to convince toyota motorsport to develop a chip like the pre-facelift?

FIZZ-

Hey Mr Fizz :) cheers I got SR in november, I've already put 7K on the clock, and that's personal use.

hopefully by next year (2008) my promotion will be available along with small company car hopefully. But that means 2 company 3's a crowd, so one would definitely have to go.

JERRY P-

Mr JP :) I know you're right about saving money. I think I'll put money saved towards track day driving their track car.

DAWESY -

I've had a taste of being able to get to the posted speed limits quicker than before,

Plus driving mom & dad Rav t180 makes it more difficult to give up the idea.

on the up side My Dad Retired last month giving up a company car. My Mom doesn't wanna share the RAV and Dad don't want either of mine, so he wants a sensible sporty treat for himself, so guess who's waiting for the Auris t180 release  DAD.

So I may not own one but I might get to drive one every now and then. :yahoo:

Will catch up properly at JAE if your planning on making a late appearence again.

It worked out for the best :)

I had the compressor for a while and it isn't really that thrilling and the supercharger drinks too much petrol. Its going to be hard on the resale - you will loose a lot and the supercharger wont last forever. I've driven the d4d you have too and i always found it fun to drive when my mrs had one. I couldn't lie and say the d4d was more exciting than the compressor but the compr. was definatly a let down and a very expensive let down.

You can get much more thrill out of a type-r / vxr / or a ST - all round the d4d you have is much better all round at the end of the day. You know if your patient enough you are in a prime position to trade in your d4d SR in a year or so's time and you'll pick up a really nice and much cheaper T180 auris. I haven't driven the t180 but i garuntee it will be much more thrilling the the compr.

It will have a bucket of torq, better handling and will probably be faster than figures suggest - not to mention hold its value better and be soooo much more cheaper to run.

But then my Charger is a proper one fitted to the car by Toyota in the factory in Japan not this TTE "thing" bolted on as an afterthought :shutit:  :D B) - only joking

TTE have a chip for the pre-facelift D4D but they are currently unable to sort one out for the facelifted version as the emmissions regs changed and the one created for the pre-facelift version won't work on ours. Shame really. There are other companies who advertise chips for our cars but I don't know anyone who has had one fitted or what it would do to the emmissions.

Cheers

John
