T-sport Insurance

If know this has probably been done before, but it's renewal time for me, and I wanted to see which companies gave you your best quote.

I am 26, female, license held 1 year 9 months, 2 years NCB, standard 51 plate T-sport, 1 windscreen claim, 1 male named driver age 33 (actually brings the price down!).

Norwich Union have given me a renewal of £308 fully comp, although when I do a fresh quote with them I get £308.99 and that includes a courtesy car, which I didn't have on my original quote. Other places so far have been quoting me £500+. Have tried Sainsburys, Zurich and Diamond so far.

That doesn't sound too bad rallybunny Norwiich Union (Barclays and Tesco are also Norwich Union I think) is great company for claims handling (my son works there but no discounts and they really look after you if you have a shunt AND all their claims handlers are in Exeter not somewhere in the booonies. Mine is £240 including my 25 year old daughter as well so make sure you go for courtesy car so price seems ok for a reputable company, good luck with getting the best deal :thumbsup:

I don't think I am going to get a better quote to be honest, as they include the time which you've held your provisional too.....so in their eyes I've had a license 8 years!

Thanks for your input, thunderT. ;)

Hi,

I am 23yrs old and have 1yrs no claims, 1 accident 18 months ago and 1 windscreen claim.

Got quoted £650-£950 at various places like diamond etc.

Then went to confused.com and they got much better quotes for me. Ended up going with marks and spencers for £490 fully comp with legal aid!!

Would recommend putting your details into www.confused.com and see what quotes you get from there, but the quote you have at the moment sounds good.

Claire.

Being a female would help reduce your premium! Factors like postcode, where its kept overnight etc count but yours still does seem a bit excessive. Do some more ringing around! The AA offerred me the best quote.

Confused were rubbish for me. £470+ was the cheapest. When I was getting quotes when I first got the car, RAC weren't bad, and on thunderT's suggestion, Barclays gave me a quote of £340 which has more extras and lower excess than the Norwich Union one. Got a few more to try tomorrow though........

I have a new best quote by A-plan. :D £288 with lower excess than Barclays. Don't think anyone will beat that, but I'll keep trying.

I think when you get down to the last £50 (remember that is just £4 a month it comes down to quality of the company so check out lowest AND go back to NU to match it after all business is business glad to be of help :)

I would also recommend trying Tesco and Directline.

I'm currently with Directline - 24, male 2NCB about £460 i think for this year. I'm now paying less than I was TPFT on a 1989 Fiat Uno 18 months ago!

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm 19 in my 1st year of driving, 0 NCB, and i pay £1500 on my SR with direct line,

had a quote for a T-Sport (getting in a few month as soon as i have 1 years NCB, and been driving a year) of £1200, my g/f is also 19 and to put her on as a named driver it only costs an extra £8 a month lol
