Hi guys,

New around here so go gentle

I have just bought a bog standard 04 CTS (loving it so far) and understand that they really benefit from a few mods.

With an initial budget of approx £500 what would you do first?

Many thanks

First off, welcome to TOC :) Secondly I'd have to agree with Bert - lower it and slap on a Typhoon. Is the 04 cts pre or post facelift? If it's the pre-facelift then you might also want to look at getting a strut brace fitted.

Cheer Guys,

It is a prefacelift model.

Couple of questions:

What lowering kit do people recommend?

Also heard that adding an induction kit can cause some issues as the computer does not know what to do - is this correct?

Thanks again.

Lowering Kits:

a ) TTE (sourced from your Toyota Dealer) - these are probably the most popular

b ) Eibach (sourced from loads of online e-tailers) - I have these and love them to bits

c ) GMAX (sourced on eBay as they are always available there) - These are cheaper than the others and (I think) give a 35mm drop compared to a 30mm drop on the other 2

Induction Kits:

They tend to confuse the Ecu for a while so your mpg figures will probably nose dive. But after a decent bit of driving the Ecu will adapt to the new air flow and work out the best way of utilising it and you should see your economy go back up again. Some have said they get improved economy whilst others have a worse economy.
