yeh that would be good thanks, any hassle from the police?

Well, they look great IMO but they are illegal so it's in the lap of the gods.

Square aint illegal if it's the right size for a car i thought? As you get them on all the imports? Illegal if you go smaller hence i stayed legal!

Well, I didn't mean to scare you, Woody mate but I'm pretty sure that the front plate has to be the standard rectangular shape and size. Funnily enough, since the DVLA revamped their site, I can't find the info on the size of plates. May just be me and my Googling skills going off (they said that'd happen as I got older! ) but I can't find the info which used to include the size of the small motorcycle rear plates and everything.

I did find this on Wiki clicky

Perhaps someone else can point us to the official info?

Imports can have a square front plate but I think you take your chances otherwise.

Of course, you could ask the police but don't take the car!

Meh may just carry my rectangle one in back just incase as hardly any hassle as can sit below the boot liner  Cheers for the headsup anyway! Tbh i doubt the police round here know any better as loadsa imports aroud and they may even think mine imported on face value? Also i driven past LOADS of police and not been stopped yet (touch wood) so seems all well!

Square plates arent illegal as long as font, spacing, size of letters etc are ok.

Anyway, if you look on your bumper you'll see that the sticky-out number plate mounting place is slightly less than the width of a legal square plate, so you could say its the right plate for your motor.

Mine's a wee touch smaller than legal, but it is spaced right and in a normal lookin font (metro) so its still easy to read  never had any bother from the fuzz

Get an Evo-size plate. Mine's an Evo VII size with red border and TTE logo. Looks the dog's danglies. Much better than plain square one. Think Kimi's got one too, so have a goose at her's for a pic!
