Surf Tailgate - Not Quite The Normal Problem

Can anybody please help on a problem which has just occurred with the tailgate on my Surf.

I'm used to removing the panel and lubricating the motor etc. on the tailgate of my Surf but the other day the window stopped working via the rear lock. First opening and then closing as well.

Still works fine on the switch at the front. Also the warning bleep still goes off if I operate the key in the rear lock with the tailgate open.

Is there a capacitor or something else which might affect the lock mechanism only.

Any help would be appreciated as this one has got me stumped.

have you tested the wiring to&from the tailgate key swicth, see if you have power there first,if so is the power going through the switch when you turn the key to the motor?
