Cts Powertec Filter

Did anyone know that Powertec make an induction kit for the CTS? It was featured in my son's magazine, a July Issue of JTuner. Has anyone heard of these, or is using it? I am thinking of buying it. I contacted the number provided, and they put me in touch with the nearest distributer :)

Had to create an imageshack account, just to get the pic showing

Thanks,

Blutto

Hi blutto, I've seen them around on eBay going for £100 (same as in the magazine) but I've not seen anyone mention how good they are on here. At that price I would imagine they are probably on a par with the K&N 57i though.

i personally think the cts get a good gain from any kind of induction kit it doesn't have to be expensive flash one's aslong it does sucks more air to the engine it will gain performance , far as the filter goes they are all the same in one way or the other and looking at this kit it doesn't look too bad make sure you remember disconnect the earth from Battery when fitting.

hi!

well, i went for it, piece of p*** to fit, about an hour in freezing wind. Best part was there was no need to take off intake pipe, infact the outlet that goes into air box sits right next to new filter and should in fact help deliver a bit of much needed cold air. Sounds bloody great even puts a smile on the wife's face now thats two of us thats in lift all the time. Would like to get it on a rolling road cos it certainly has given the rolla a kick up ****.

I fitted a K&N Typhoon 69-8751 last week.

Haven't noticed much difference with performance but the sound is Fantastic.

I noticed a difference more at higher speed with my bothced AEM CAI reduced to Short Ram lol! However... I didn't actually notice the difference until i put the original air box back in as the car needed to see mr T. With the Aem it hit 110 mph a lot more easier in 4th (i always seem to find that 100 to 110 in fourth was a bit sluggish)

The stock air box is sooooo restrictive so removing and puttin on a intake of any make, makes a hell of a lot of difference. Plus the sound you get is.... umm bliss! I will put it back in soon, when the car gets fixed by mr t!
