Hello!! My girlfriend and i have just bought a new 07 plate aygo plus.. so i thought id join up here n get some info on what people think of the car.... must admit im a little bit worried about how many people seem to be having little problems with it!lol

We pick the car up on thursday the 1st of march n i cant wait to start modding it, not many people seem to modify the aygo n im not too sure why? It seems to be a brilliant base for a project car... plus none of my cars are standard so it would look weird on the drive with little hubcaps lol.

Cheers all!

Modding will invalidate any warranty (possibly VERY expensive) and if you dont tell the insurance company about anything you do to the car (and hence have to pay a higher premium) they can cancel your cover just when you need it the most.

If you want to mod cars, I suggest building/buying a kit car, then you can play about as much as you like, within reason.

Hi welcome to the site..not really that many probs I dont think, I have had mine a year now and beside the sticky boot button thinks its been great. I would lvoe to mod mine up a bit more but as previous post it would invalidate my warranty so have only done a few bits..plus the cars so gorgues it dont need that much modding anyway...lol..hope you enjoy your aygo

TBH it dosnt really need modding, only things id like on mine is a spoiler and it lowerd then id leave it, the standard bumpers and wheel arches look awsome as they are. Only thing that needs sorting out is the sound system

the only reason it would appear that theres been problems with peoples Aygo's is because everyone on here is a moaner. LOL. Mod away and then then we will judge it and rate it out of 10 LOL. Oh well have fun.

Thats a fair point johnan, still little things like alloys n induction kits can always been taken off if something goes wrong, plus the brill thing about the aygo is the TTE stuff... so with our aygo im simply going to use the tte springs to lower it and keep the warranty, everything else going on the car appart from the ICE can be taken off if needs be....

Well we picked the car up thursday 1st and then friday 2nd i had the new 17" rims on... here are a few pics, unfortunatly the pics dont show how well the rims suit the car, the diamond cut outter rim and black inner rim suit the aygo perfectly!!

This is the reason weve got the Aygo.... my weekend baby!

nice, should look really good when it gets lowerd as it does look really tall with the standard springs, what size tyres are on them?

Posted

205/40R17.... they rub slightly on full lock and on some dips when there are two people in the car.... i was actually quite supprised how big the arches are on the aygo

Posted

that looks sweet. what make are the rims?

I really like your weekend baby :drool::drool::drool:

how much of the handeling have you lost with them wheels? has it made a big differnce or not much at all?

Posted

The wheels are made by wolfrace.... dont think you can get them anymore though. Handling wise, there is loads of grip... im finding it hard to make the aygo do anything actually, doesnt want to understeer and it wont oversteer... so its safe lol. The ride is abit crashier where its running low profile tyres and where it is a tad taller it doesnt feel that stable on motorways, but that should be sorted when it gets lowered.

Cheers for the comments on my coupe aswell.... its amazin driving that thing through a town lol

you not bothered about putting the speedo out then by having the big wheels? also does it degrade performance having big wheels on?

Posted

Speedometers are not exactly bang on anyway so im not too worried about the extra rim size throwing it out. Acceleration seems to be blunted abit... but i expected that.... o yer hills can be a slight problem lol, i seem to be using 3rd instead of 4th when ever i see a hill now! I think the gearbox is the only thing i really dont like about the aygo, it just seems to be too higher geared for the engines power....

Ive also added an induction kit today so ill post some pics of that tomoz!

Cheers all!

Here is the induction kit i made n fitted yesterday.... for having such a small throtle body it makes a !Removed! big roar lol!

That induction kit looks amazing. Your making me so jealous. :crybaby:

What's next ?

Keep up the good work.

I guess I had better get my exhaust started this weekend, cos your making me feel guilty for having a standard looking car

Posted

what exhaust you getting?

Posted

Is there no way to have the intake over to the other side?

That would make more sense (and power) as at the moment

the intake sits behind the radiator, causing hotter air intake,

thus less power as hot air is less dense...

There's a reason the intake on the original airbox is on the right hand side...

I did try to put the filter down the other side, however the black tube unfortunatly was rubbing against the throttle cable... so i didnt really want to leave it like that.... its not ideally placed i know but hey this isnt a skyline lol power is not what i am trying to gain, just trying to get the best note from the little 3pot!

As for the exhaust we should be doing that in the next few weeks, going for a "mini cooper s" style back box with two smallish tips in the centre of the bumper... nothing silly, a nice oem type look!

Must admit im envious of my girlfriend havin this as her first car!!
