Yaris Clutch

Hi,

Got a slight issue with my '02 D4-D GLS. The clutch biting point is only just up off the floor and is now making some gearchanges a little less easy than they should be. I suspect the previous owner spent all their time riding the clutch at the traffic lights or at junctions. The clutch itself feels OK though. Just done 55k miles, bought a year ago with 39k. Is there any adjustment in the cable/mechanism or is this a new clutch job?

Other than that, what a great car :)

It might just need bleeding. When the biting point is near the floor, it is normally associated with a new clutch. The biting point tends to rise further from the floor as the clutch becomes worn. Bleeding is probably the cheapest option, anything else will probably need further diagnosis, which will probably mean having the gearbox out, in which case you might as well have a new clutch put in anyway. Hope this helps
