Diy Sat Nav Mount

Well I popped back in here after a long absence to see what the score was on up to date disks for a TNS 200 system. The roads round here have to be 20 years old, but my 2001 system still seems to live in a state of total bemusement locally  But at £130 a pop I can't see my buying new disks :ffs:

I was also wondering if anyone had any tips on mounting a TomTom One in an Avensis, the windscreen is way too distant and it does not seem to have an obvious alternative.

No luck on finding anything apart from some overpriced contraptions on the web, so what I have done is to take a half height PC card blanking plate, duct tape to the the top edge of a 2 inch square bit of plastic, add velcro tabs to it and the sat nav, the plate then slots into the top of the left middle air vent tightly wedging there, and the sat nav sticks on firmly. In my view it is in the ideal position to see clearly and safely, and it all removes in a second without leaving a trace.

Still in uses, slots neatly in and out, leaving no trace you have a sat nav. The position of the air vent is perfect :)
