Hey can someone help explain how to apply it cos the instructions are just pictures and abit unclean..

the pack contains 2 bottles;

1x Touch up Pencil 'Basecoat'

1x Touch up Pencil 'Clear Lacquer'

1x Rust Eraser (metal brush thingy)

From what i have it says

1. Remove dirt/rust

2. Apply Primer

3. Apply Basecoat (45 mins drying time)

4. Apply clear lacquer

is that right?

Do you need to use a primer if its just light scratches?

thanks matty..

yep, pretty much. primer is to give the paint something to stick to, to save it flaking off later. i doubt the paint would react to anything without it, assuming the surface is clean. but DEFINATELY use the primer anyway.

thanks guys

by the way, for your colour of car you're probably gonna need white primer, not the more-common grey. i use Simoniz, it sprays on beautifully and is a lot thinner than Halfords stuff

do you actually need the primer if its just a really light surface scratch? cos its not like down to the metal its just like lost its shine

If its just lost its shine and the colour is still there then you just need to apply the laquer to reseal the paint!

The touch up pack contains a bottle of basecoat colour and a bottle of clear lacquer..................if the damage is enough to need primer it may just be that the touch up pack is not what is needed for the repair.
