something along the lines of some oil seals near the crank shaft sensor that could cause the car to stall if any oil leaked onto the sensor or something along tose lines. The recall only effects a certain year so if you have not had a call or letter you should be ok.

my other half has just got this letter. tried to book it in but my local dealer is waiting for the sensor on back order.

as it'san oil seal does that mean she'll get a free oil change aswell then? :D i hope so , saves me doing it.

lol, the oil seal is just the one on the crank position sensor. The recall just involves replacing the sensor - there will be very little oil loss - if any.

Looks like you will be doing her oil change lol :)

There's 1 year between the original post and monkeyalan's missus getting her letter!! How can it take 1 year to notify all the afftected cars?

Out of interest, has anybody else had theirs done? I've never heard of it. What years are affected?

Alot of times cars do slip through the net with recalls.

You can check the VOSA website for recalls on different models and get in touch with the dealers asking about them.

I did quite a few at work when the recall first went out, not sure what years were affected sorry.
