:) Hi all, this is my first posting.I have owned an xt3 diesel for the last 2 years, well pleased with the vehicle, have ordered the xtr, picking up sat!!. astral black, yes i know what i'll be doing on my days off, lots of elbow grease, ordered the side steps as well, i'm sure it will look great with the rear privacy glass.I got a good deal from the local toyota dealer although they talked me into getting the supaguard with it being black etc.I'll give my review of the vehicle in the next few weeks, although i'm expecting it to be just as good as my current vehicle, in the recent heavy snowfall it was like a knife through butter, very effective!

Welcome to the forum.Hope you like your XT-R diesel (Carbon Quartz).I have had mine for two weeks now and love it.Did you get one with the spare wheel attached.The first ones to hit the showrooms had a spare attached,the later ones did without the spare in favour of a fully opening rear door and a puncture repair kit. What did you think about that? I had serious misgivings about not having the spare so bought a spare wheel and keep it at home.If I were to contemplate a long journey I would be tempted to carry the spare in the boot.Incidentally Toyota did not adjust the price to take account of having no spare.Big cost saving for them I think!

We've been given the oppotunity to change our two year old Granite for an XT-R. Still mulling it over but I reckon we'll go for it. Probably in the Carbon Quartz.

Go for it Milleman.I've been driving for 40 years having had three new golfs including GTI's and two new Saabs. My new XT-R ( Carbon Quartz) has excited me as much as any of the others probably more.The fully opening rear door and the flat load bay are brilliant.This is my first diesel and I am astonished at the accelleration in the lower gears.So this is what they mean when they talk about torque? Pile on the extras if you can ,the style and protection pack are excellent and may help to keep your pride and joy away from some of the almost inevitable car park bumps and nudges. Keep us informed and we can share your excitement!

I must admit, I don't see many RAV4.3's around on the road.

Hi all, my first posting as well. I'm picking up my new XT-R in a couple of weeks (replacing an XT-4) and like Jock I intend to purchase a spare to keep at home and carry on in the back on any long trips. Does anyone know if Toyota dealers sell a suitable 17" steel wheel or maybe a space saver; anything to keep down the cost of buying an additional new alloy.
