Its been parked up for 5 weeks, I went to get into it but the remote locking wasn’t working, the Battery was totally flat in the car.

So I tried the key in the door & it wont turn, I tried the passengers door & that wouldn’t unlock either!

How am I supposed to get in my car?

Does it need power to unlock the doors?

Or are my linkages a bit seized?

Alternatively is it possible to open the bonnet another way so I can get jumpleads onto it?

Cheers

The locks should be able to open manually so it may have seized. How long has it been since you have used the manual locks?

Get some WD40 sprayed in the keyhole and across the key itself and try it again... may loosen it up if it has got a bit rusty...

As Fizz says, you can get into the car with no Battery on at all. Waggle your keys!

Ok, will give the WD40 a go & let you know how I get on.

or if that fails you can gt a flet steel plate and slide it down the window seal, and try to push the lock bar along, difficult on mr2s cos of the door curve though

and if all else fails you can always buy window cover and smash one then claim :D

Hiya, well I managed to get back in my car, although the fault was due to me being a complete & utter !Removed!! :bash:

It turned out I was using the wrong key to get in.

Ever since owning the car it has always unlocked with the remote & I've never needed to unlock the door with the key. After drowning the lock in WD40 and still no joy I went back to the stack of bits & bobs I got when I bought the car, where I discovered another key!

This other key slipped right in & opened the door - Doh!!!!!

Feel free to type abuse below lol
