Cracking Paint

My Rav4 has been back from the body shop for just over a month and you'd not notice it had had any work done (hit black ice and went into a field on Christmas Eve). Last week I noticed what looked like a series of scratches on the front skirt - running from where it butts up to the wing to the headlamp. I initially thought it must have been car park damage but, when I had time to take a closer look (and see if I could polish them out) they look like stress cracks radiating out from a point (from behind where the skirt and wing meet). They don't break the surface and just appear to be in the colour coat.

They're only noticeable when the light catches them in a particular way. Took it to the repair shop today and they've agreed to take the skirt off and repaint it, though I'm not convinced it's really worth all the effort.

Anyone else ever seen this?

Dig in and tell them you want a new skirt. If they have tried to repair it and it is cracking by now it will never be a success.
