Charged To Use Courtesy Car - Normal?

Recommended Posts

I took my Aygo in to TNS St Ives for some warrenty issues (sticky boot button, broken indicators etc) and asked for a courtesy car, whcih i've had from loads of places before. This time though, the wanted to charge me per-mile to use it! Whats up with that, is that what everywhere does now, or have i been lucky in the past and got away without being charged?

What made it worse was I queried it, and they said 'well, its that or you fill it up when you come back, bring the receipt and we'll just give you the money back' and i thought 'that seems decent, means im not actually paying after all'. Bought my receipt in, having filled the tank for them and they said 'we cant refund you that, as these were warrenty repairs, they were free'. Now ya tell me, 25 nuggets down the drain. :(

Never yet had to pay for courtesy car at Thurlow Nunn Toyota (Used to be TNS) St Ives, but that could be because I have bought both of my Toyotas from them and am a good customer.

Where did you buy your Aygo from?

As long as you receive it with a full tank and return it with a full tank so that you only pay for the petrol that you use. You may be able to get them to deliver and collect from your home address or work place.

My first service is in April and the salesman said that there would be no charge for the courtesy car but I expect I will have to return it with a full tank.

yeah, that and all the other niggly little issues seem to have been sorted fine, so cant fault em on that.

I got my Aygo (MMT) from TNS as well - in my case they told me I can't have a courtesy car because they don't have one in automatic  !

I'm pretty sure they claimed somewhere (although I may be wrong) that I can have a courtesy car while my car's being serviced...

Anyways I went to Marshall in Peterborough for the body respray job and without a fuss they got me a brand new Peugeot 307 from their rentals division  .
