Forged Connecting Rods For U.s. Celica

I have looked for forged internal components for my 94 celica st 1.8L 7a-fe for about 2 months. I know that the pistons for the 4a-ge have the same bore but I need a set of forged rods with an 85.5mm stroke. Does anyone where I can find a set that will work? From what I have seen there are no manufacturers that make forged anything specifically for my car. By the way, I just signed up and so far I'm impressed.

do you mean that i should try to use the rods from a 4age?

cause the stroke is longer in the 7a-fe so the 4a rods wont quite reach. the 4a is a 1.6L and the 7a is a 1.8L. I have sent an email to a couple of sites requesting custom rods. im hoping that they arent more than $600.

nah, i meant ask hks if they can supply the rods for you, failing that you could always get a second hand engine from a scrap/junk yard and dismantle it that way.

or remove the conrods and measure them, (if you havent already tried it that is) and send hks the details, maybe they can help ??

i called the HKS people and they said they dont make one for my engine and wont do custom work, so i called race engineering and they were a lot more helpful. the guy i spoke with told me to send in a rod and he will try to match it up with something mass produced. he told me that custom rods are usually $700 per/set. man i hope he can find something for me, $700 is a little more than i want to spend.

$700 isnt that bad, are you getting forged pistons awell? Try Arias - dont know if they do rods? i'll have a hunt ariund for u if you like.
