What is the Clio Sports 0-60 times? I thought it would have been quite evenly matched, not that i'm complaining! its Nice to know especially when one comes edging at the lights!!! :yahoo:

I've not picked up my T Sport yet, but I'm very surprised that they're quicker than a Clio 172.

Clio 172 is faster on paper. Obviously the Corolla is a bit quicker than the figures suggest but I'd have thought that would be the same for the Clio too.

Ah well, can't complain. Just looking forward to picking mine up!

My mate has a clio 172 with a few mods Induction kit, exhaust, and mine is standard except a Blitz air filter and a sports cat, and I would say they are nearly identical in performance...

from my experience about 3 years ago with a clio172 off the lights when i had no mods just totaly standard tsport that clio172 did beat me to 60 by about half a car length, i think the reason are he was on the power band before i was on the lift if only i launch the car the result would be different.

lastnight with the 182 was on the motorway and the clio182 just couldn't keep with our tsport i was VERY Slowly further and further away from it and looking at my speedo and i was flat out on all the gears i've use i know for sure he was definaely trying his hardest this went on for few minutes the clio just couldn't make up any ground on our tsport at all so i think it was time to leave it ,so i let go gas pedal and the clio quicky caught up.

clio is good off the mark but on motorway they have no guts and our tsport will have them all day long  .

on my tsport i have got a super sonic ,tte shortshift, trd plugs and the recent added nur spec cat back running v-power everyday .

i do know about anyone else but i find driving the cts with traction off make a huge different ,when the traction are on it seens to restrict you from going fast but soon as you hit the traction off button and put your foot right down again the car seen to move much more freely.

a 172 or 182 would chew up and spit out a Corolla.......A Corolla is just an old mans car, a TSport is just a fast old mans Corolla. But very bland, boring, uninspiring and handles like a sack of pooh and costs a stupid amount of money.

Hehehe some quality trolling going on here.

Do you think that everyone who has bought a Corolla T Sport didn't know a Clio 172/182 existed? If they wanted a Clio 182 they would probably have bought one.

For the record, I would have thought that a CTS and a 182 would be very similar performance-wise. But if the Clio was a bit quicker, and I actually cared, I could have bought one. But I didn't want a Clio, just like you didn't want a Corolla. Who really cares?

Fair play, but you have to admit that a Corolla is very bland and boring, best thing about it is the engine....ultra reliable.

Its the bit around the engine that lets it down.....lack of style.

It does look pretty boring yeah, but to be honest that was part of the appeal to me. Civic Type Rs, Focus STs, Clio 172/182s etc. all look quick, they're quite shouty. The Corolla makes a good stealth car.

The handling isn't brilliant but it's good enough for me, bear in mind I had a 306 before (which are fantastic handlers) and I work as an engineer for MINI (which are even better) so I'm used to cars that handle.

They're a bit less shouty than a 182 yeah. Especially when they've got the boonet stripes.

We're getting a 197 in at work soon for competitor vehicle evaluation so it'll be interesting to see how that drives. :D

I wouldnt go as far as saying 'the T-Sport is bland and boring', my black 3dr is lovely looking IMO when its clean and gets loads of admiring glances...I personally think its nicer looking than the mk4 Golf (and not as dull) and looks far more expensive than a Focus. I like the understated looks.

I will admit the handling is soft and dissapointing, my old Focus handling was unreal for a standard cooking Zetec model...but the CTS is far more comfortable and the interior is a quality item...Toyota kind of mismatched the bonkers engine with a comfy cruiser...It would have been truely awesome if it handled like a Focus

I paid £5,995 for my car about 6 months ago and it came with Climate Control, Heated Front and Rear Windscreens, Electic Mirrors and Factory Fitted Alarm amongst other stuff, its reliable, fast, sounds awesome, comfortable, discreet and it feels like a quality item. Also a bit different from the masses of Civic Type R's. What else could you ask for under £6,000???

The CTS isnt perfect....but for the money its an absolutely cracking package....I really like the Renault Sport Clios 172/182 and 197...but lets face it they are built like *****e...we have stopped having Renaults on our fleet at work because of the problems we have had with them....Keycard Problems, electrics, fuel gauges to name a few...i recently drove a 6 month old Grand Scenic with 6k and the squeaks and rattles of it drove me mad. Unacceptable for a 20k car IMO.

Thats quite a statement. CTS is a great car. Nothing wrong with it, even Jason Plato likes it. I for one wouldn't like to be seen in a Clio, cheap french tat, looks nice, handles and goes very good but cheap underneath. Go back to the cliosport forums and leave CTS owners alone, CTS owners dont go on clio forums and do clio bashing.

Just my 2 cents :)

Found this on Evo Magazine, they dont rate it much do they?

http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarrevi...la_t_sport.html

I just cant believe there is an internet forum with people admitting to own CTS's......do they not come with a brown paper bag so you cant be seen driving them. i know i would expect one.

LMFAO....must have hit a nerve....Quality.. :D :D The brown paper bag comes as standard, although we CTS owners would remove the brown paper bag to point and laugh at you when your clio has gone to its normal resting place on the hard shoulder of a motorway! :D

thing with them reviews is they go from toyota figures, we all know 0-60 is low 7's some been timed at 7.2 if im correct ?

also they compare the cts to the likes of the golf gti and type r etc. when them type cars have bigger engine , have turbo's , cost more etc and they dont mention our car aint far behind them if not on par with speed wise, so what if it takes some coil overs and strut brace to help get the handling in the same league or near abouts, doesnt cost a lot. they also dont mention the gap in the insurence groups and running costs.

as for the clio debate i dont care what anyone says i will make my mind up whitch car is superior when i come face to face with one :) we may have a old mans car, but its better than having a hairdressers car :)
