Celica Headlights

The nearside headlight on my 1992 Celica does not work on dip beam even though I have changed the bulb, can anyone give me a reason for this please? They are pop up headlights on the 2.0 16 valve model.

Hi, I had this problem too recently. I took the bulb out and noticed that the clip to which the bulb is fitted was melted. This was preventing the metal contacts on the socket & the bulb from connecting. I fixed this by carefully wrapping the bulb metal contacts with tin foil - this worked fine up until a couple of days ago - it has since gone out which means I think I now need to replace the cable.

I am not sure where this cable goes from the light as it is hidden - anyone got any ideas?
