Firstly welcome to the club!

Secondly... Thats some paintwork you got there and i love the project.

If the 3SGTE engine is from a 4th gen GT4 then it will be the ST165. Before giving tips on where to continue modding from could you give us a list of current mods and we can work from that.

I already see you have a front mounted intercooler sat in place so i presume you have some more funky bits about it as well.

Typical first stage mods are to get the breathing sorted out.. after market exhaust with a downpipe replacing the cat and then adding an induction kit with a cold air feed then moving onto boost controllers and fuel cut defenders (this would only be for pre 1994 3SGTE engines for stage 1)

Enjoy your stay.

p.s) We never got the Caldina here either but we did get all the GT4 veriants. And imported MR2 Turbo's.. Having ownen both I can honestly say i love the engine!

Fizz He's on about the 4th gen 3s-gte engine i.e. the one from the ST215 caldina GT-Four, not the 4th gen celica. You could only get them in Japan, like the one fensport imported.

1st gen 3s-gte - ST165 4th Gen Celica

2nd gen 3s-gte - ST185 5th Gen Celica

3rd gen 3s-gte - ST205 6th Gen Celica

4th gen 3s-gte - ST215 Caldina GT-Four

4th gen 3s-gte was the same as the ST205 engine but had direct fire COP ignition and a side feed intake manifold, also went back to top mount intercooler rather than charge cooler but as you mentioned that has been bined in this one as he has a front mount.

Still what mod's have you done so far mate, what boost are you currently running and are you using an ebc or the standard boost control system. What ECU have you got? Standard or aftermarket.

What about exhaust etc,

thanks fizz  youre right about the breathing. i already have a 2.5 inch exaust but only the stock downpipe. i was told they couldnt mate the 3 inch exhaust to my already existing muffler because of size difference so i plan on soon getting the 3 inch done with a custom 3 inch downpipe i dont have a cat because its a pre 96 car no emissions inspection.

I have a cheap-o turbo XS manual boost controler, and i have recently been thinking about getting a fuel cut defender (although my fuel cut only happens when i get to 120mph (or 190kmph for you guys :D )

i didnt know you guys didnt get the caldina there! wow... guess just japan and new zealand?

THANK YOU for clearing that up sketchy! nobody knows anything about the caldina here in the us. so the motors are exactly the same minus the ignition and the intake and intercooler situation. nice!

im currently running at 15 psi (which is what ive been told to be stock for that motor) and i opted not to get an ebc (would be too tempting) and as far as the ECU i have the stock one which redlines at 6.5-7 rpm because caldina's were all automatic :censor: I need to get another engine management system so that i can squeeze some more horses out of it.

any more suggestions? what about injectors? what other power upgrades would you suggest to go for?

trying to get a consensus.

what part of england are you guys from

Welcome to the club mate!

I'm fairly useless when it comes to real performance mods, electronics is my thing really.

Interesting paint job tho, i'm guessing the black on the lights is a tinting spray and not actual car body paint?

No worries mate

Firstly if you running the stock ECU DO NOT fit a fuel cut defender.

The stock fuel cut on the toyota ECU is 1.2Bar~17-18PSI and it's put there for a very good reason that where the ECU runs out of maps. If you force it above that it's just guesssing what to do, and normally ends up massively overfuelling which due to bore wash can be as bad as underfueling for the engine...

Stock pressure is around 0.9Bar~13.5PSI so your slightly above stock however around 16PSI is considered safe for a stock motor. I am a little consered about the fact your hitting fuel cut at speed, do you have some sort of Force Entry Induction kit that could be increasing intake pressure at speed?? Otherwise sounds like you might have a boost creep issue that could need looking at.

Generally speaking with a Decent exhaust and intake system and a steady 1.1-1.2Bar~16-17psi boost you should be looking at around 300BHP at the Flywheel.

Stock Injectors should be Denso 540CC which will see you up to around 340BHP. If you upgrading the ecu though I'd consider some Sard 800cc items along with a walbro 255l/Hr fuel pump or similar.

ECU. There are a few choices. Apexi Power FC is the cheapest. Hydra Nemisis is the one I'm saving for at the moment which is quite a bit cheaper over your neck of the wood. Motec M4 Pro is good but gets expensive especially if you want the optional extras.
