Errrm, you shure it went back on right and didn't somehow jam badly?

No possibility of GENTLY tapping the top bottom and sides with a wooden or rubber mallet to shock loosen the thing while you pull on it?

Just be careful as i nearly broke my nose when a simmilar thing happened in my mini, pulled the steering wheel didn't budge, pulled harder and hit myself in the face with it when it suddenly came off!

always leave the centre nut on ( just loosely ) when you loosen a steering wheel as it prevents the inevitable wheel-face interface !

Yep. Unscrew the center nut nearly all the way with it on just by a bit of a turn.... THEN TUG THE MOTHER F@($£R LIKE YOU'R HULK ON SPEED!
