Pirelli Tyres On New Celica

I purchased my Celica in March last year.

The car has now down 11,900 miles. However the rear tyres have no tread on them the edges of the tyre are ok but the middles have no tread at all. As I have done less than the average mileage I can’t understand why I need two new tyres.

I had the car serviced in December and have done probably 2,000/3,000 miles since then.(The service report marked Amber for these two rear tyres - 3mm depth)

One tyre company has said that these tyres should never have gone on the car but these tyres are the originals straight out of the showroom!!

Can you explain why I have to purchase two tyres so early on in the cars life?

The tyres are Pirelli – 205/45 ZR 17 88 W

The Pirelli's should have had a reasonable life... I got about 15k out of my P-Zero's when I had some on. SMW Sounds about right with over inflation for the wear style, and I'll add "having a bit too much fun?" for the life!

It's a car, it's done almost 12k, you may think you should not need to but it's a car, buy tyres.

Welcome to the club
