Just thought I'd share my good experience. :D I finally bought some HIDs from eBay (Hong Kong). Was a buy it now at only £68 all inc. Bought it Monday night, arrived this morning!

ebay item

The difference is unbelievable. I don't think I have ever seen a brighter form of light in my life. I would highly recommend them! B)

You can see a fairly poor picture as a modification in my "garage"

Are they really? Crap, I didn't know that. What reason are they? How do new cars get away with it?

New cars have lens designed for the HID beam.

Your lens will be throwing rays of light everywhere possibly blinding oncoming drivers aka making them illegal :( sorry

load of tosh. these kits come e marked. as long as the bulbs are fitted in the relevant type light ( ie reflector or projector) they are ok.

also there is a rumour that they can only be fitted to cars with head lamp adjustment is also garbage. as long as the car passes the MOT test with the HIDs in there is not a problem (thats why they test the beam in the test, to make sure your not blinding any one.)

it realy doesnt matter what bulb is fitted to a lamp its the reflector and or the lens that make the beam pattern.

the rolla flew through its MOT and thats with HIDs and lights that are not for that model.

sit back and enjoy the better (and safer ) lights you have

HIDs filament in halogen housing is what is illegal.. but i dont see anyone enforcing it!

You got anything to back that up? I've no real idea either way but it would be nice to see some evidence for either side of the arguement
