Rav 4 Electric Window Switches

Hi

My wife has a M Reg 3 door rav4. It had fitted a number of years ago electric windows as an extra by a toyota dealer.

One of these switches has now failed, I understand from toyota that the switches used are not a toyota item,

The switches appear to the correct toyota type but they are not set in the door but in the centre console under the radio cassette.

Does anyone know where I could obtain one of these switches, even a 2nd hand one would do.

Thanks

Dave

Toyota switches are very expensive anyway ! Obvious place is maybe a car breaker or Parts Gateway, otherwise some of the specialists like Demon Tweeks etc?

Thanks for the replyIan.

Yes I gather that Toyata spares are not cheap, I am hopefully looking for someone who has had fitted one of these generic, post new kits.

The switches fit in the standard toyota cut outs just below the radio ( 4 blanking plates)

Are you aware of any breakers fot RAVs?

Can you put up any photo's of the switches, as they could be similar to another make or type :) .

I've just picked up a MR2 which has window switches on the door panel which look identical to the RAV. I'm using the car as a donor to install its turbo engine into the RAV. I'll not be using the window switches so if they might fit your purpose then you can have them - give me a shout at ian@silverwells.com

I think the ones mounted in the door are the wrong ones.

I have been advised by toyota that the ones I have are an after sales fit of the electric windows,

I will post a picture some time, when I work out how to do it.

Thanks for the offer
