The Jap version of the T Sport is the RunX! They didn't name it like the europe (T Sport) or australia (Sportivo) Weird but thats Toyota! The Auris is still called the Corolla in Japan! Just one of those things!

Are the corolla hatch and the runx the same across the models, not just the tsport? are you saying all runx's are japanese Tsports?

Yes! Basically they are a Jap T Sport, however there are changes in there design! silly things like exhaust routing, different bumper. Just little things!

The Fensport Corolla started of as a Japanese import RunX. That had a 1500cc engine, auto box and 4 wheel drive  - a very strange mix

If the fensport runx started out life as a 1500cc then not all runx's are japanese tsports

of course they have different model just like in UK we have tsport ,T3,SR,D4D etc.....

i really dont know what you are trying to find out but if you wanted to know is there a corolla runX use the same engine 2zz-ge as the UK tsport then yes is called corolla runX TRD sport M , this japan corolla sport M will eat our UK tsport for breakfast running at 220ps standard , it is equip with all TRD parts as standard with LSD aswell and i dare say it will give UK corolla compressor a run for is money and could well beat it and out handle all standard UK tsport and compressor ,but dont worry UK tsport owner's we can all turn our tsport into one with a lot of money, the reason we dont get this car because as most people who know about the country japan and been there many time's on hoilday's like myself can tell you "they keep the best for themself's".

i have seen a few in hongkong even there they are import's and if you see this car anywhere else and NOT "Japan" it has to be a import like i said before no other country's officially get this car it is sold in Japan ONLY.

here are some funny facts: in Japan a lot of japaness housewives drive brand new mitsubishi evo's as a everyday shopping car and for school run's and they think nothing of it .

as for fensport corolla i will never compare my tsport or even speak the same sentence with the fensport 4wd corolla, totaly different class of a car,one is a "SuperCar" and one is a "family shopping car".

@ T128: Just wanted to know what the Jap version of our Tsport was over there. there seems to be a trend of JDM cars having a higher spec than our own. Im thinking about getting a new car, one option being the tsport or I might import. Was looking to see if I could combine the two. Must look to see how much the runx would set me back. There a €3k tax for importing a tsport so Id say the runx will be higher. Will make for some interesting research :)

if you can get the japan runX TRD sport M you save loads of money in the long run no need to tune at all they dont cost that much to buy they work out cheaper than tsport when they are new due to exchange rate and you get all the TRD goodies with it .

  • 3 weeks later...

The Japanese version of the T-Sport is either a RunX or Allex RS-180.

This is the 2ZZ-GE engine, no supercharger though.

This was the now suiperceded version.
