Just got back from Toyota today after having trouble putting it into 2nd gear and the rest of them being really stiff and they said it needs a new clutch and alot a new radiator cos it was leeking. So its going back on Friday to get them sorted out.

Am too young for a courtasy car, only 18, but nevermind.

Sorry to hear of the trouble, hope all will be fixed on Friday.

I would be interested in finding out exactly what the "clutch" trouble is. A worn driven plate (the bit that normally wears in clutches, assuming the Aygo clutch works like a normal one(!)) would not cause difficult gear shifting, more likely would be clutch slip. So something else ,like the release bearing, must have given up the ghost. They usually last the life of the car so it is a bit unusual.(That is assuming that it was not indeed due to the clutch actuation system being at fault being hydraulic or cable)

Could you ask them exactly what was wrong Matt and if it was a one off or a worrying trend?

Likewise the radiator.I have heard of a couple of faulty Aygo radiators but I suppose 2 out of all those made is nothing really!

too young for a courtesy car? That could cost Toyota a fortune in taxis to ferry you round but, hey - you deserve it and they can afford it

I had a leaky radiater (I think) when I first got the Aygo, just open my bonnet to put sreenstuff in and the engine was pink, they took it in and fixed it no probs all quick, didnt clean engine mind its still pink

You weren’t too young when you walked onto the dealers and bought a car off them!

They should look after the younger customers to make sure they go back in the future.

You have 50+ years of motoring ahead of you, any dealer worth his salt would look after you so you continue to buy their product.

Customer Service? They don’t know the meaning of the word :censor:

Got my car back today, they've had it from 9 - 5 and fitted a brand new clutch and radiator all done under warrenty and car is the cleanest its been for a long time.

not bothered about getting another car from them cos they dopped me off and picked me up which is really good of them.

as for the car it feels brand new again! jumped in it to come home and stalled it straight away cos the clutch is so light and really low, gunna have to get used to it, but the gear changes are really smooth again :)

I asked the guy why it needed a new one and they said it was just worn out and that it was the first one they've had a problem with and he said it mite of just been a small fault when it was made and has just escalated into it getting knacked.

They also said that they have had to replace a few radiators so ppl it mite be sumit that may occur in some of yours so keep an eye on it.

anyway Rmb Toyota Darlington have been Ace, the machanic even said its the nicest Aygo he's seen with the alloys and the sound system.
