Seeking Information Of Japanese Imports

Hi there.

I'm thinking about buying a celica. They've always caught my eye. I've noticed on ebay/E&M that a lot of 90s celicas appear to be imported from Japan. They've got a wide difference between model year an d1st year of registration. Could someone explain why people have been doing it. Presumably it is cost effective to buy them up and freight them over but i'm having trouble believing it. I'd appreciate to hear the normal pattern of these imports - are they purchased from dealerships in japan and shipped in bulk, or individuals doing it.
