Gen 7 - Shape

I don’t want to offend any generation 7 owners but I cant see the attraction of this model at all. I know it’s a personal thing but am I one of the few that would take a gen 6 over it every time, as in looks. Its seems like a very bland shape, looks like any other new car to me, im surprised Toyota didn’t improve on the looks of the gen 6 curvier shape, I guess it might be outdated?.

Like I said, no offence. Im just interested to know why a lot of people love the gen 7 so much.

Wouldn’t the world be a boring place if we all liked the same thing? The really old classic models have never really rocked my boat apart from the MK1 MR2 ;) , the Gen6 Celica is also a stunning and stylish car but the Gen7 always caught my eye for some reason, it can’t be an age related thing because there are plenty of younger owners out there who think the same , at least it’s lines aren’t like all the cars in production now though, in my mind the designers have all used the same mould for today’s bland shape, it looks like they have blown a chunk of molten steel into a ball then added windows, doors and an engine :( (waits for severe flaming :shutit: )

I have never been a lover of the gen 7's shape......I am a gen 5 girl allllll the way.

The gen 7 is an ok looking car but it never held my attention for long. Its not sexy and there are no curves on it.

I think whichever generation, the celica always looks too high. With lowering springs keeping the wheels neatly in the arches its a vast improvment.

I quite like the GT bodywork on the gen 7 as well. Shame there's no GT4 or even supercharged version. Lotus have that engine at 270bhp+ in their exige gt3.

I think the attraction might lie in the aggresive look & the defined lines of the car. I personally don't like the looks of the Gen 6 now but loved it at the time... a bit like the Audi TT.

I'de like to say that i absolutely love the shape of the Gen 7. I think it took real guts to move away from the obviously attractive gen 6 but i think it has really paid off. Its a lovely looking car and the straighter lines give it a more agressive look. Anyway im jsust defending my car :)

Not sure about lambo looks, but they do look good. But in the looks stakes (IMO):

Gen 5> Gen 7 > Gen6

look at the shape of the line running along the top of the car. I'm not saying the Gen 7 is ANYWHERE NEAR as good lookin as the Lambo...but theres definately similarities. I'd take the Lambo anyday tho! lol

Personally I think the gen 7 looks the best but would say the gen 6 is a classic design that will age alot better. I think the gen 7 is far more attractive than many cars out there and for the play it safe designers at Toyota it was a bold step!
