Picnic 2.2 Td Diesel Engine Big End *?\!

Hi,

My beloved picnic is sick big time. The big or small end bearing has failed after 70K miles. Has anybody else had a similar problem. Any advice ?

I understand that the repair by the main dealer is going to cost me about £3K - A lot of money.

not under warranty then?

if not it may be cheaper to get a recon engine or one from the breakers (if you can find one)
