Hi All,

I have just bought some magnets for my fuel line to hopefully improve fuel consumption but now do not know which line is the fuel. My car is a 2003 2.0vvti. Has anyone got a diagram of the engine and knows which is the fuel line. Looked in the owners manual but that is no help

Thanks in Anticipation

Regards

I'm afraid these magnets will do absolutely nothing to improve your fuel consumption. Think about it, don't you think that in this day and age of going green, saving the environment and generally hugging trees that governments everywhere would be pushing these things as the way forward?

The only way to use less petrol is to improve your driving style and keep your car in tip-top condition.

Sorry about the rant.

You could always stick them on the side of your fridge,

I saw those on mythbusters, they tested them on carb and fuel injected cars. In both instances there was no improvement in fuel economy.

but as the car gets older and the rust from the tank and fuel piping collects near the magnet it will block up and stop the engine working. would this be a "myoldcarbial infarction"?

Yes, but a good balanced diet and plenty of good long runs, using polyunsaturated engine oil will help prevent this.

This post takes me back to the 70s when I was an apprentice, we had a lad in our group who fitted a similar device to his motorbike.

Every lunchtime one of us would keep him talking and another would go to his bike and put some petrol in.

At the end of the week he had more petrol left than when he started, he is in his 50s now and still cant quite work that one out!:lol::lol:
