Towing

We plan to tow a small caravan with our 2.2 D4D. Previously used a Shogun which hardly felt the caravan and the RAV4 has a bit more torque, so we hope that it will be even better.

Before the Shogun we had a RAV4 VVTi and it coped fairly well but only if we used high engine speeds, which we found unrelaxing (if there is such a word). We also had to keep the towbar pressure quite light.

I wondered if anyone had any practical experience of towing with a new model diesel RAV in terms of towing strength, stability, suspension and that kind of thing?
