aftermarket air intake panel filter for 4e-fe engiene, so what do ye people use. what brands are available for it? any links, info and prices much appreciated.

Panel filter for standard airbox will create no further performance, but if you use one from say KN then you will be able to have a longer service life from the filter.

Believe it or not many years ago an engine tuner by the name of David Vizard (Fords and Minis was his forte) along with some tuning establishments/rolling roads did a series of tests on Standard manufacturers air filters Vs 'so-called' performance filters and the outcome was ...

while the tests may have shown that, having experimented on my 5e-fe engine, the drop in K&N panel that I am using has improved the gas milage on my vehicle and you feel a better bite on the low end as opposed to the cone filter that I used with a short ram intake which resulted in heat soak at the top end, I suggest using the K&N
