I know this is a toyota forum but I post here a bit I am sure that there are people here who work on other stuff other than toyota's. Basically my other half has a 98 opel corsa viva and I need to change the front brake pads. No problem changing front brakes pads on my toyota (thanks to gazza  ) But I thought i heard some where that if you push the piston back into the calapier on the corsa there is a likely chance you can do in the master cyclinder. To get around this you need to loosen the bleed screw, I am hoping I heard wrong and wont have to do this?

Thanks Cubix

you heard right its not worth the risk you can damage the master cylinder its more a case of when the piston is pushed back to quickly .it is an easy process do be put of .what you should do is GENTLY clamp the flexy brake pipe to prevent fluid from being pushed back open bleed nipple ease piston back when fully back release clamp and allow fluid to run through bleed nipple till no air [important] close nipple and repeat other side .fit pads.then pump the brake pedal out but i stress with small pumps do not press pedal to floor or you will also get pedal problems dont have engine running when pumping pedal either.if you follow this you should not have a problem .dont be tempted to press to far on pedal when pumping pads out
