Does the radio volume button on my 2000 1.0 vvti have any function when it is pushed in? I have had a fiddle but whether it's locked in or sitting proud it just seems to adjust the volume. Did any of this make sense at all?

I don't wish to seem rude, but may I recommend you use the search utility of the forums. The button's to the top right of the page. This subject has been discussed more times that I care to even consider remembering.

It gives you a 3hp increase when pushed in, but its recommended this is only used for overtaking.

Fair point, to a point. Firstly the search facility is not terribly brilliant (no offence, it's just not) the majority od answers I got were mainly repeating the same old joke about bhp increases. Secondly it's highly likely that just about every Yaris subject has been covered at some time or another, so shall we just close the forum to new posts and leave the search facility?

Back to the question, apart from BHP increases :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo: ...ah sod it I don't care what it does really

:D It's just a convenience thing - leave the knob out and adjust it to your volume then push it in and if you knock / touch the control it won't change.

Useful for people like me with young kids but for the rest of the world a pretty pointless feature really

If you have the sat-nav system installed.. pushing the button in switches it on.. aswell as giving an extra increase in the BHP ;)

I dont know about your cars, but on mine you press the button and it activates the flux capacitor. Then you floor it and get up to 88MPH..........also makes the car fly!! have to run it on plutonium tho!! :P
