Did you fit it yourself if so how long did it take + how difficult was it?

It took about 80 minutes to fit.

No problems aslong as you follow the instructions that you can download from the K&N website.

It does look nice and sounds amazing.

Not noticed much difference in Performance but it is a lot louder.

It used to scream now it Roars.

I have noticed that my fuel economy as deterioated but apparently it will sort itself out over time.

After i fitted mine i noticed quite a difference stop most flat spots and seemed to pull away quicker through the revs. Probably a bit different for each car.......... mine has a sports exhaust too so maybe it works better in conjuntion with something like that i'm not sure but defo worth the money!

And yes will fit compressor no problems!

This kit will ensure your filter is sucking cold air only.

Anodised aluminium with carbon fibre casing

Not cheap £200+

i like!

do you think the £200 is justified in permorance etc...?

The typhoon from k+n costs similar.

The major advantage is that this does not suck hot air from the engine bay!

The material use is 1st class! Look nice when u pop open the bonnet!

The only way to find out any bhp gain is by dyno before and after but I can't be ask! I am happy with my purchase!

do you know if anyone has ever tested these 2 major kits on the dyno?

anyway, lets face it our country is a cold one so the K&N wont suffer that much surely unless your stuck in traffic!

In my opinion and some will agree the cts, on a hot day doesn't feel as responsive as it does on a cold day. I know people may think its in the head but if your always giving it welly you will notice small differences. PLUS the engine doesn't half get hot when you playing hard!

I looked into the AEM CAI, for the corolla and purchased one with the intention it will work. It..... Didn't ( :censor: ) So, it got a saw straight through it and is now a short ram, works well, but the piping does get hot, and it is still pulling in hot air from the engine bay.

Your best doing some plumbing, feeding some air from the front of the car via some samco hosing up to the filter. Heat sheilding the filter is also a good idea, or if it is enclosed filter like it seems to be on the Pipercorss you'll get away with feeding the air into the encolsed box section (if you catch me drift). That will help!

  • 3 weeks later...

I've been running the K&N Typhoon Kit for month now.

I had a look at the Mass Air Sensor the other day to check it wasn't covered in filter oil, it wasn't.

My Fuel economy has also got better. It used to be 32 average now it's 33.5mpg.

Overall very happy with the Typhon.

i'd bet the majority of your 1.5mpg increase was due to the warmer weather we've been having.

engines run most efficiently when they're warm, and since its warm they warm up quicker.

I noticed my mpg go up because of that too.
