hi everyone,

eventually i got my aygo back and i am enjoying it the best i can.

i had the windows tinted yesterday- looks very nice!

yesterday i had the bolts of my alloys replaced as they were all rusty! and i also had a new wiper arm- after a bit of fuss and bother they decide that they would let me have this done under warranty!

they said that rusty bolts and calipers are comon because the aygo being the only model of the toyota range which does not have painted bolts etc.!

well i am glad i had the car back- i think the world of it!

Glad to hear you got your car back.

Did you get offered anything as a goodwill gesture or even get an apology for the ridiculous time they took to fix it?

i got a full tank of petrol, some flowers and some chocolates!

So not a lot then?

I think you could have pushed for a lot more than that. Okay i know its easy for those on the forum to say and i understand that you went through a lot of trauma, but i really think something like free servicing would have been in the offing, rather than what amounts to less than £50 in the items you mentioned.

I agree with the above...............................I think after the stress that they caused you, an extended warranty and free servicing would be the very least that you should accept.

But if you are happy...................it is up to you

Yeah - you sound happy! Good to have you back! It wasn't the same!

Welcome back and I am glad you have your little friend back.

Although it would have been nice to get more in the way of compensation, on a personal level, flowers and chocolates are a good start! They sound like a decent bunch who have to follow MR.T's directives but have a basic appreciation of your situation.

Were the "carpet" panels missing from your "boot" after all, and if so were they replaced?

By the way, in case you have any doubts about keeping the Aygo...I have just returned from a hard driving 500mile trip which included dual carriageways ,steep hills ,normal roads and traffic with the boot fully laden and a passenger and the Aygo returned 57mpg overall ,easily kept up with the traffic at all times and I was never uncomfortable (something I am prone to in many cars). The car never missed a beat and the engine has still not used a drop of oil since new ! (2500mls)That may be normal these days but I am used to MG Midgets and Ford based kit cars which have quite an appetite for oil.

Sure, one can spend more and get more but the Aygo is a city car that behaves like a supermini without the running cost penalties. And above all, it is FUN to drive!

Enjoy it. It is a great car!

i am really happy bout my little car. i love it. may have to have a company car soon nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

the windows were tinted last week (just the back 3) they aren't too dark and don't look chavy. My car looks soooooo lush!

i still keep expecting the engine management light to flicker on again but for the time being i am speeding around everywhere like a busy bee.

i think the aygo is great, i am getting speeds of 60 & 70mph easily, i know thats not too fast but it is nippy enough!

i would love some new brakes though, its taking quite some time to come to a halt!!!

I find the brakes more than adequate, quite sharp actually, and I weigh over 15 stone!

If you really find them not satisfactory I suggest you potter along to Mr T again and ask him for his opinion...after all your entire engine has been removed and lots of pipework will have been disconnected in the process. If it all wasn't put back correctly, the brake servo assistance may not be operating and needs to be checked.

At least they can tell you if all is well or not, in fact a pal could probably give you a second opinion, to see if they think it is normal or not before you bother Mr T.
