Our Aygo has one headlight pointing a lot lower than the other. Does anyone know how to adjust it up a bit?

Service is due on 2k miles so will ask for it to be done then but I would like to know how to do it myself before then.

Firstly, make sure the adjuster motor hasn't jammed.

Do both headlights rise and fall together when you operate the load dial?

Sometimes, one is still in the "down" position. Turn them full up / full down a couple of times.

If they both work properly.......

Open the bonnet and look at the back of the headlight.

Make sure that the "low" bulb is located properly in it's holder.

(They don't usually just "go low")

If it looks like it's located the same as the good one..........

At the top rear of the headlight unit is the motorised adjuster unit. (a square black box)

on top of this is a small light grey screw. It is a hexagonal hole about 6mm across with a cross for a Phillips head screwdriver in the bottom.

I'm pretty certain you turn it ANTI-clockwise to adjust the beam UP.

Once you've found this, find a screwdriver to fit.

Go out at night and find a nice flat car park with a brick wall at one end.

(So you can see where the beams are nicely).

look at the "flat" part of the good beam and use the grey adjuster to lift the flat part of the poor beam up to match it.

Hope this helps.

Usually, you only have this problem if a bulb isn't fitted properly or

It's a poorly made one with a badly placed filament. If the bulb blows, you might have to do this all again.

Good Luck.
