I haven't managed to get the text function to work on any of my CDs even brand new ones. I assume you just press the text button whilst it is playing?

According to the manual the CD player is not compatible with CDRs which is a real pain in this day and age. Mine will play some CDRs but I decide not to in case in causes damage to the player.

I was once told that if you burn a CD at slow 'write' speed it will improve quality and make it less likely to be rejected by the player.

All bought Cd's for some reason dont have the info burnt onto them, only Cd's you burn yourself will have the info. If you use Nero just make the sure you have the track name in there, keep it down to less than 12 chars cos thats all the stereo will read, try and avoid any punctuation as well ,./' etc cos the stereo just shows * for all of them.

And yes slower burnt cd's stand a better chance of working properly.

I burn my CDs with nero and use the cd text function. had no problems with playing cds or showing text even at full burn speed.

you do need to make sure you press the text button to cycle through TRACK -> CD TITLE -> TRACK TITLE

also, there are quite a number of pre-recorded CDs that do not have CD text stored on them - I think there is a simple that denotes that cd text is enabled. something like the current CD logo - but with the word TEXT on it somewhere.

hope that helps.

i have some bought cds with the info on and some that dont. i suppose it is down to the record label to decide whether they can be bothered to include it.
