T Cut, used very carefully on a small patch first, perhaps? Is it metallic? There's a less abrasive version of T Cut for metallics that comes in different colours.

looks like the clearcoat's been damaged, if you're other halfs feeling brave some wet sanding and a good polish/glaze/seal/wax & buff with a decent machine buffer will be the best and may even save you the respray depending on the extent of the damage.

Agree with Sport54.......clearcoat peel.

Any good body shop can sort this out for a fraction of the price of a respray, OR do it yourself. Pick off the loose bits, feather the edges down to the paintwork with 1000 wet and dry ( use wet with soap ) , dry it off thoroughly and respray with an aerosol. Cut and polish the new lacquer when cured.

Nice little job for a spring day .

try using sandpaper on it 2000grade paper. then follow it with rubbing compound, then wax it off.

it it still doesn't wor, bring it to the paint shop. it needs a retouch.
