Hi has anyone had their windows tinted? If so how good is it and how much did it cost? I've already been quoted £225 for rear and side rear windows is this about right, I'm also looking into doing it myself has anyone done this and recomend any products?

Thanks for any help.

no experience of aftermarket tints but just in case you haven't seen this floating around the MOT centre.....

i espescially like the bit about 'if the test equipment is not available' then 'a subjective test' will be conducted

ergo sum copper looks and THINKS its too dark ur nicked......

God Bless America... cos this countries hell

I had my windows done by these guys:

Its way more expensive than the usual backstreet window tinters AND, even though i offered inducements, they would not do the front windows darker that their Light Smoke tint. The product itself is fantastic. You dont notice its there on the glass, even though its about 1mm thick. Also, rather than stuck on with water based glue, they heat bond it to the glass (hense the security aspect of it).

I have been very impressed with it and hope i never get the chance to test the claim that it takes about 90 seconds to bash through the glass.

GOOD Choice,

I used Pentagon in Reading, had my rear window tinted in their midnight tint the 2 rear windows in dark smoke and the front ones in light smoke...

1st class job they did on it, did cost me 300 notes tho and now I wish I went for the limo tint on the rear and midnight on the sides...but nevermind...when I go for the New shape rav 4 in a year or 2 I will get the rear totally blacked out and light smoke on the front.

And as you said they do advise that its illegal to tint the front side windows so I asked if the good ole coppa were to pull me over and request I get it sorted how much theyd charge...the answer was theyd do it for free...!!

Lucky tho sofar no coppa has had an issue with me tints...guess if they were limmod out then that would cause a stink, but I think as long as we dont take the pSSSS then its ok...I suppose...

Just out of curiosity, did you go for the standard tints or the "SupaGlass" tints.

SupaGlass was my choice. I was impressed with the idea of preventing the opertunist smash and grab artists.
